NTPC forms JV to set up 1,320 MW plant in Allahabad
New Delhi, Apr 2 (UNI) State-owned National Thermal Power Corporation (NTPC) today said it has formed a joint venture (JV) with Uttar Pradesh Rajya Vidyut Utpadan Nigam Ltd (UPRVUNL) for setting up a 1,320 MW (2X660 MW) power plant in Allahabad district.
The country's largest power producer NTPC's will have fifty per cent stake in the new JV named Meja Urja Nigam Ltd, while the other half will be owned by UPRVUNL, company said in a statement.
The city-based NTPC said, ''the project will be set up at Meja Tehsil or any other suitable site in Allahabad district in the state of Uttar Pradesh.'' UNI MP PDT RAI1825
