Centre's permission for Arasu Cable TV

Chennai, Apr 2 (UNI) The Centre today granted permission to the State-owned Arasu Cable Television to operate cable TV network in the city.

An official release here said the Union Information and Broadcasting Ministry issued an order to this effect.

The company was in the process of obtaining permission to operate its cable TV network in other districts of the State from the respective Post offices. As running the network in Chennai required Central assent, Arasu Cable Television had sent an application to the Union Ministry on November 23, 2007, the release added.
