Accidental gunshot kills SSB jawan in Chhattisgarh
Jagdalpur, Chhattisgarh, Apr 2 (UNI) A Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB) jawan was today killed when he received an accidental gunshot discharged from the carbine rifle of a head constable at Marwada area in Chhattisgarh's Bijapur district, police said.
SSB jawans were setting out on patrol when Arunachal Pradesh-resident jawan Tupen Chang sustained a gunshot during an accidental discharge from head constable Vidhu Bhushan's rifle.
He was admitted to a primary health centre in Bhairamgarh where he received primary treatment and referred to Jagdalpur. The jawan died on the way to Jagdalpur near Geedam.
Two SSB battalions had been recently deployed in south Bastar.
