Auto ancillary industry seeks check on input cost

New Delhi, Mar 30, 2008 : Hit hard by the rising steel prices, along with high interest rates and the depreciating dollar, auto component manufacturers have sought the government"s help to take fiscal steps to check the spiralling input costs.

The Automotive Component Manufacturers Association of India or ACMA has said that profitability of auto component makers have been hit hard in the quarter ended in December 2007, with many of them registering negative growth.
