Two JKP personnel shot dead near Udhampur

Jammu, Apr 1: Two Jammu and Kashmir Police (JKP) personnel were shot dead by some vehicle-borne assailants on Dhar Road near Udhampur here today, senior official said.

The deceased constables, identified as Arun Kumar and Deepak Kumar, were fired upon by some unidentified shooters at Dhar Road at around 1215 hrs, ASP Udhampur Anil Magotra told UNI.

''The assailants have reportedly fired from a vehicle,'' he said.

Police have not ruled out ''personal rivalry'' as cause of incident. ''More details would be available soon as investigation were going on,'' Mr Magotra said.

No arrests have been made so far, the officer informed.
