TDP disrupts AP House proceedings

Hyderabad, Apr 1 (UNI) The Main Opposition Telugu Desam Party (TDP) disrupted the proceedings in the Andhra Pradesh Assembly for sometime today after Telangana Rashtra Samiti MLA M Satyanarayana objected to the TDP ''wasting public money'' by moving no-confidence motion against the Rajasekhara Reddy Government.

Participating in the discussion on the motion, the legislator compared the TDP without power to a ''fish out of water'' and asked why the party was in ''haste'' to dislodge the Congress Government.

The TDP members constantly interrupted the TRS member and stood up staging a noisy protest over allocation of time to the member after 16 TRS loyalist members had resigned from the Assembly Speaker K R Suresh Reddy ruled he had given time to Mr Satyanarayana as a Member of the House.

Intervening, the Chief Minister said it was very unfortunate the TDP was adamant that the House should be run according to its ''whims and fancies'' even after the Speaker's ruling. ''This is not a healthy debate.'' Leader of Opposition N Chandrababu Naidu dubbed the member as belonging to the ''YSR-TRS'' after the latter praised the Congress Government and objected to the TDP levelling allegations against the family members of the Chief Minister.

Government Chief Whip N Kirankumar Reddy maintained the TDP could not raise the matter as the same was ''sub-judice.'' Mr Naidu also asked how the MLAs from Samajwadi Party and Janata Party continued to be recognised even after their expulsion from the respective parties.
