Taradevi, Sidnal and Hegde join Congress

Bangalore, Apr 1 (UNI) Former Union Minister Taradevi Siddartha (BJP), former MP S B Sidnal (Kannada Paksha) and former Karnataka Assembly Legislator Jayaprakash Hegde (Janata Parivar) today joined Congress in the presence of Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee (KPCC) President Mallikarjun Kharge.

Speaking to newsmen after admitting them, Mr Kharge said that AICC President Sonia Gandhi has approved their induction into the party.

Stating that they would be formally admitted into the party fold in a day or two, he said that "their admission was without any conditions." Mr Kharge alleged that yesterday's Dalit Convention by BJP in Chitradurga was nothing but an eye on the forthcoming elections and woo Dalit voters. This is another 'gimmick' by the saffron party to woo the voters. 'BJP basically an anti-poor and anti-Dalit party having strong faith in 'hierarchical caste system' now trying to shed tears for them'.
