Sugar prices recover on speculative buying
Navi Mumbai, Apr 1 (UNI) Sugar prices recovered today on speculative buying in the wholesale sugar market, Bombay Sugar Merchants Association said.
Small grade sugar remained unchanged on scattered buying, while medium grade sugar moved up by Rs 13 per quintal due to reduced stock supply.
Similarly, ex-mill small and medium grades also went up by Rs 10 and Rs 5 per quintal respectively amid heavy demand from retailers, traders added.
Following are the spot wholesale rates per quintal: Small grade: Rs 1,505/1,545, Medium grade: Rs 1,533/1,630 Ex-mill Small grade: Rs 1,490/1,520 and Medium grade: Rs 1,530/1,560.
