Stampade incident, two CIS suspended

Vijayawada, Apr 1 (UNI) City Police Commissioner C V Anand suspended two Circle Inspectors (CIS) in connection with the January three stampade incident at Indrakeeladri, in which seven people were killed and injuring ten others.

The commissioner also served charge memos to two sub-inspectors, a head constable and four constables besides issuing a memo to Assistant Commissioner of Police (West zone) L Vijaya Kumar, seeking his explanation on the incident last night.

The action was taken following a departmental inquiry conducted by Deputy Commissioner of Police U V S Raju, who submitted a report to Mr Anand, police sources told UNI.
