Soren accuses CPI(M) of harassing JMM supporters in Bengal

Purulia, Apr 1 (UNI) Former union coal minister and JMM supremo Shibu Soren has charged the CPI(M) led West Bengal government with harassing innocent people and his party supporters in the name of containing Maoists.

Mr Soren while addressing his party supporters last night at Courtshila, alleged the CPI(M) was virtually running a ''cadre raj with help of police to eliminate oppostion forces in West Bengal''.

He said his many supporters and ordinary people were being harrassed by security forces in the name of containing CPI (Maoist) cadres in the districts of Purulia and Bankura and elsewhere.

''The harrassment is one of the tools of the government to tell the people if you do not follow party line or refrain from doing politics'', Mr Soren said and warned to launch agiational programme in future.

He also called upon the people to defeat the CPI (M) candidates in coming panchayt elections in the state.
