Samsung says no to further price hikes

New Delhi, Apr 1 (UNI) Samsung India Electronics Ltd, a subsidiary of South Korea-based Samsung Electronics Company Ltd, today said that despite the rising imput prices, the company will not increase the prices of its products further.

''Although the steel and copper prices have shot up, there will be no increase in the prices of our products specially refrigerators in the immediate future,'' company Deputy Managing Director Ravinder Zutshi told reporters on the sidelines of a conference here.

The company had recently raised the prices of its refrigerators by three to four per cent, he added.

Steel industry has witnessed a price hike of about 25 per cent during the last three months.

Yesterday Finance Minister P Chidambaram had said, ''there are some reports that steel producers are planning to raise prices.
