Ready to face any inquiry: Cong Legislator Krishna Rao
Hyderabad, Apr 1 (UNI) Andhra Pradesh Congress Legislator Krishna Rao tonight offered to surrender his property and subject himself for any inquiry and wanted Leader of Opposition N Chandrababu Naidu and TDP Legislature Party Deputy Leader N Janardhan Reddy to follow suit.
Participating in the debate on the no-confidence motion against the Rajasekhara Reddy government, Mr Rao maintained that he had no ill-gotten wealth as a construction contractor in the last 18 years.
He alleged that the TDP was trying to malign him for political mileage.
''The TDP is making such baseless corruption charges only out of frustration,'' he alleged, adding that ''the TDP, which has lost the people's confidence, is sure to receive a severe drubbing in the next elections.'' Intervening, Mr Janardhan Reddy (TDP) alleged that the Congress Legislator had allegedly cheated Rs 22 crore from the collapsed Prudential Bank, forcing some gullible investors to commit suicide.
However, utter pandemonium prevailed in the House with the TDP members rushing to the Well, seeking time for more members to participate in the debate.
Though the Speaker made repeated appeals to the opposition members to resume their seats, so that he could make an annoucement on the resolution for a probe into assets of politicians, it fell on deaf ears.
Later, the Speaker adjourned the House to meet again tomorrow.
