Raja assures all possible help to Arunachal telecom woes
New Delhi, Apr 1 (UNI) The Center today assured all possible help to improve connectivity and sort out all telecom problems plaguing the north eastern state of Arunachal Pradesh.
In a meeting here with Telecom and IT Minister A Raja, Arunachal Pradesh Governor Gen J J Singh made an impassioned plea for improving the communication connectivity in the state.
Mr Raja assured the Governor that within the next one year he will take enough steps to improve the connectivity and sort out all the problems. He also requested the Governor to facilitate power supply and land to expedite the works of setting up of towers.
He said he was devising strategies for developing the state as a Floriculture and Horticulture hub and also to promote tourism.
To pursue his goals, Gen J J Singh also made a request for providing mobile connectivity in the State of Arunachal Pradesh.
The meeting which was attended by senior officials of Department of Telecom and BSNL apprised the General of steps being taken to improve the communication connectivity.
BSNL informed the Arunachal Pradesh Governor that in addition to the existing 63 towers, 7 were under installation. Besides, 48 more are being planned.
