Pehowa shuts down in protest oer trader family's suicide
Pehowa, Apr 1 (UNI) Markets remained closed in Pehowa town of Kurukshetra district in Haryana in protest against the suicide of a local businessman Maam Chand and eight members of his family.
According to police sources no untoward incident has been reported from the city. The security arrangements have been tightened in the city.
All the eight bodies, including that of Maam Chand, which were in a car, have been recovered from the Bhakra Nahar.
Mamchand was missing since March 16 from Pehowa. Before leaving house, the family has written a suicidal note and have mentioned the names of 21 people who were allegedly responsible for their this act. All the bodies were sent to PGI at Rohtak for postmortem.
The relatives of Maamchand staged protests yesterday, when Haryana agriculture minister Harmohinder Singh Chathha visited the spot. They also expressed their unhappiness over the inaction of police.
