No ticket for tainted leaders: Rajnath
Satna, MP, Apr 1 (UNI) Tainted leaders and those having poor image would be denied ticket by the Bharatiya Janata Party for the coming Lok Sabha and Assembly elections, party chief Rajnath Singh said today.
''New faces would be given tickets to avert anti-incumbency factor'', he told newspersons here, adding 'Gujarat formula' would be replicated in Madhya Pradesh also for the Assembly election scheduled this year end.
The BJP chief charged that Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and Finance Minister P Chidambaram despite being good economists had failed to give a proper direction to the country's economy due to wrong policies of the UPA government.
Mr Singh said about 40 per cent rural population was living below poverty line as the Congress, which ruled the country for a long time, failed to follow Gandhian economics, which, he said, was still relevant.
