NGO to perform free marriages Apr 2
Kakinada, Apr 1 (UNI) Missions to the Nations, a non-governmental organisation involved in community service for the past 16 years, will perform free marriages for the poor tomorrow, its chief Yelchuri Paparao said.
Addressing a press conference here today, he said 20 poor couples -- four Hindu and 16 Christian -- would tie the knot at the Christian Community Hall.
Union Minister of State for Defence M M Pallam Raju, MLA Mutha Gopalakrishna and MLC Nallamilli Sesha Reddy would also attend.
In addition to new clothes and other materials, each couple would be provided Rs 30,000 worth of household articles.
The couples were selected after calling for applications by advertising in newspapers.
