Shimla, Apr 1 (UNI) A mild Western Disturbances (WD} lying over north Pakistan and the adjoining state of Jammu and Kashmir brought in rains across the isolated places of Himachal Pradesh today.
While the higher altitude areas of the state experienced mild snow, the lower areas experienced rains followed by thundershowers.
The sky had a thick cloud cover over Shimla town and other adjoining areas and a slight drizzle occurred by the evening.
After the mild rains recorded around two mm, minimum temperature at Shimla town was 9.4 degrees Celsius, followed by short span sunshine, which made Mercury to stand at 17.8 degrees Celsius.
Higher areas of the tribal districts of state with upper reaches of Pangi, Bharmour in Chamba district recorded a sharp plunge in temperature and witnessed mild snowfall.
The minimum temperature at the Kalpa in Kinnaur district hovered around minus 1.5, maximum however stood around 13.4 degrees Celsius.
On the other hand lower regions of state experienced light showers, and mercury slightly tumbled down one to two degrees.
The maximum temperature at Sundernagar, which recorded two mm of rains, stood around 27.7 degrees and Bhuntar 22.8 degrees, while the minimum temperatures at these two places 11.7 and 7.8 degree Celsius respectively.
