KRV to force stop screening of Tamil movies from tomorrow

Bangalore, Apr 1(UNI) Pro-Kannada group Karnataka Rakshana Vedike (KRV), which is spearheading the agitation on Hogenakal issue today threatened to force stop screening of Tamil movies in the city from tomorrow.

The agitators are protesting against Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M Karunanidhi's recent statement on Hognekkal issue.

KRV has also decided to ask cable operators to stop Tamil channels from beaming programmes from tomorrow.

According to a release here, a decision to this effect was taken this evening at a meeting in which among others BJP leader Mukhyamantri Chandru, Rajya Raitha Sangha Working President Kodihalli Chandrasekhar, KRV Kresident T A Narayana Gowda participated.

Mr Gowda said that KRV would be meeting in Chamarajanagar on April 11 and 12 to chalkout future course of action.

He said that the agitation would continue till Tamil Nadu gives up its project at Hognekkal.
