Inter-state autolifters gang busted
New Delhi, Apr 1 (UNI) Police today claimed to have busted a gang of inter-state autolifters, active in Ghaziabad and North-East Delhi, with the arrest of two people.
Ashok Kumar (45) and Vinod alias Pappu (40) were arrested on Friday by the sleuths of the crime branch. While Ashok was arrested from South Delhi's Kalkaji area, Vinod was taken into custody from Hapur.
Six stolen vehicles, including three maruti vans, were recovered from the accused.
During interrogation, police said, the accused revealed that they used to sell the stolen vehicles with changed number plates in Meerut.
Both are involved in about 18 cases of autotheft, police said.
Further investigations are in progress.
