House adjourned twice amidst pandemonium
Mumbai, Apr 1 (UNI) The Maharashtra Legislative Assembly was adjourned today over a verbal exchange between the members of the treasury bench and the opposition.
The issue was raised when Bhai Jagtap (Cong) made some statement about Manisha Nimkar (Shiv Sena). The opposition members took objection to this and pandemonium prevailed in the Assembly.
The House was adjourned for 20 minutes and later, after a meeting of Chief Minister Vilasrao Deshmukh, Leader of the Opposition Ramdas Kadam, Mr Jagtap and Ms Nimkar, Speaker Babasaheb Kupekar said the issue was settled.
Senior BJP leader Gopinath Munde raised the issue of putting up a big board of GVK in front of the Chhatrapati Shivaji International airport and wanted to know what action the State Government was taking in this regard.
Mr Kupekar asked the State Government to send a letter to the Central Government on this issue.
Later, Mr Kadam raised the issue of land at Nashik and alleged that due to the Revenue Minister's mistake, the Government had suffered a loss of Rs 500 crore.
Again pandemonium prevailed on this issue and the House was adjourned for 30 minutes.
