Hindustan Chamber hails Nath for extending DEPB scheme
Chennai, Apr 1 (UNI) Hindustan Chamber of Commerce today hailed Union Minister for Commerce and Industry Kamal Nath for accepting its request for extending the Duty Entitlement Pass Book (DEPB) scheme.
In a release here, the Chamber said the relief measures initiated by the Centre come at the beginning of the financial year and at a very crucial juncture giving the much needed relief to exporters to tide over the crisis in the light of rupee appreciation.
The relief was more important in respect of sensitive sectors such as textiles, handicrafts, garments and food products.
It also hoped that many more reliefs would be given in the Exim Policy to be announced by the Centre shortly, the release added.
