Gauhati HC to celebrate diamond jubilee

Guwahati, Apr 01 (UNI) Gauhati High Court will mark its diamond jubilee with a two-day celebration in the city from April 5, with Chief Justice of India KG Balakrishnan gracing the inaugural function as the chief guest.

The event would witness the participation of a number of luminaries from various fields, including prominent names in the legal field, Justice Aftab H Saikia, convenor of the diamond jubilee celebration committee informed here today.

The Chief Justice of India will also release the commemorative volume 'Atman' and 'The Gauhati High Court in Pictures' on the occasion.

Others who would participate in the celebration include Justice HK Sema, Justice PP Naolekar, Justice B.Sudersan Reddy and Ram Jethmalani. Justice Jasti Chelameswar, Chief Justice of Gauhati High Court, would preside over the inaugural function.
