FIR against BDO, 41 others for misappropriation of funds

Patna, Apr 01 (UNI) An FIR was today filed against a Block Development Officer (BDO) and 41 others in connection with misappropriation of funds meant for implementation of National Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme (NREGS).

Police said the FIR was filed against BDO Salim Akhtar Ansari, assistant engineer Sudhir Kumar Singh and Junior Engineer Vishwanath Prasad besides others at Fatehpur police station on the directive of Director of District Rural Development Authority.

''In the FIR, allegation of misappropriation of the funds was made against the erring officers,'' police said adding the matter was being investigated.

Earlier, MLA of Fatehpur Assembly constituency Ajay Paswan had complained to the Divisional Commissioner of Magadh about the misappropriation of the funds in NREGS.
