Fake notes worth Rs 50,000 seized, 2 held

Lucknow, Apr 1 (UNI) Police today claimed to have busted a fake notes syndicate with the arrest of its two members possessing counterfeit currency worth Rs 50,000 in Ghanghata area of Sant Kabeernagar district.

Acting on a tip-off, cops swung into action and apprehended Essar Ahmed and Azharuddin under Ghanghata police station area.

Two homemade pistols and 10 cartridges were also recovered from the spot, police said.

A hunt to nail their associate counterfeiters was on.
