Chamarajnagara receives 6 cm rainfall

Bangalore, Apr 1 (UNI) Following is a summary of observations recorded by the weather office at 0830 hours today.

Rainfall occurred at a few places over South Interior Karnataka. Dry weather prevailed over Coastal Karnataka and North Interior Karnataka.

Chief rainfall amounts (cm): Chamarajnagara 6; Bandipura 5; Nanjangud, Yelandur, Basaralu 4 each; Pandavapura 3; Alur, T.Narsipura 2 each; K.R.Nagara, Kollegal, C.N.Halli, Turuvegere, Kunigal, Pavgada 1 each.

Maximum temperatures fell at a at a few places over North Interior Karnataka and changed little Coastal Karnataka and South Interior Karnataka. They were appreciably below normal at most places over Interior Karnataka and were normal over Coastal Karnataka.

Raichur recorded the highest maximum temperature of 36.2 degree Celsius over the State.

Forecast valid until Thursday morning: Rain/thundershowers likely to occur at a few places over South Interior Karnataka and mainly dry weather will prevail over Coastal Karnataka and North Interior Karnataka.

Farmers Weather Bulletin: Light to moderate rain likely to occur at a few places over all the districts of South Interior Karnataka and mainly dry weather will prevail over all the districts of Coastal Karnataka and North Interior Karnataka.
