CCL produces 42.2 million tonnes of coal
Ranchi, Apr 1 (UNI) Central Coal Fields Limited (CCL) Chairman cum Managing Director (CMD) R P Ritolia today said that the company has set a record by producing about 42.2 metric tonnes of coal in 2007-08.
''It was the heighest production the company ever had,'' Mr Retolia told a news conference here.
He said the company had also gained profit of about Rs 1000 crores for the third consecutive year.
Mr Ritolia said the company which was conferred with 'Mini Ratna' had also been recognised as maximum payer of corporate taxes after depositing about Rs 1265 crores this year.
Speaking about other features he said that the company would also initiate ''Jawaharlal Nehru Award for Good Performance'' to promote efficient workers.
The company has set up a target of producing 47 million tonnes of coal in 2008-09, the CMD said.
