3 killed, 8 injured in road accident
Kancheepuram, Apr 1 (UNI) Three people were killed on the spot and eight others injured when a van carrying tourists rammed into a lorry stranded at the Killiyar bridge near Madurantakan early today.
Police said the deceased were lorry driver, cleaner and an occupant of the van.
The mishap occurred when the van, on its way to Chennai from Perambalur, dashed against the Chennai-bound lorry from Tindivanam, stranded on the bridge due to mechanical failure.
The injured, all occupants of the van, were admitted to the Chengalpattu and Madurantakam government hospitals, police said.
