18 students get awards for scholastic performance

Ahmedabad, Apr 1 (UNI) As many as 18 medals were awarded for scholastic performance for the best students in the different programmes in the fifth convocation of Nirma University of Science and Technology held here last evening.

Spiritual Guru Ravishankarji was the Chief Guest on the occasion and delivered the convocation address. In his address to more than 227 awardees, he spurred the students for their achievements and wished them the best for their bright careers.

Eighteen medals were awarded for scholastic performance or for the Best Student in the different programmes.

While addressing in the convocation, the President of Nirma University Dr Karsanbhai Patel congratulated the students on successful completion of their programmes and urged them to put in their best efforts in whatever career they have chosen. He said that more than acquiring education, it was important to apply it for betterment of self, community and country.

Established in 2003, Nirma University of Science and Technology is the brainchild of its President Dr Karsanbhai K Patel, a well-known industrialist and philanthropist.

Nirma University of Science and Technology is recognized by the University Grants Commission (UGC) under Section 2(f) of the UGC Act.

There are five different institutes under Nirma University of Science and Technology,-- Institute of Technology, Institute of Diploma Studies, Institute of Management, Institute of Pharmacy and Institute of Science.

Nirma University offers various Diploma, Under Graduate, Post Graduate, PhD Programmes of Education in Management, Science and Technology such as Diploma in Engineering and Management, B Tech, M Tech, MCA, B Pharm, M Pharm, MSc, MBA and PhD.
