Wipro expands city operations
Chennai, Mar 31 (UNI) Wipro Technologies today expanded its Chennai operations by setting up an 80-acre new facility in Sholinganallur - ELCOT Special Economic Zone (SEZ) and announced additional investment in a 90 acre facility in Mahindra city SEZ in the city, to augment the next five year's business growth.
Talking to reportrers here, Wipro Technologies, Enterprise Solutions, President Sudip Banerjee said, ''to sustain the growth rate, we need to expand our presence in the key IT hubs in the country. Chennai continues to be very conducive for our needs as the city continues to attract talent from neighboring states.'' The Sholinganallur-ELCOT SEZ, which was being set up to accommodate 35,000 seats was already operaational and currently has around 2,500 employees. Including this facility the IT major now has six offices in the city.
