Kolkata accelerates infrastructural growth

Kolkata, March 31, 2008: With growing urban population in India's eastern Kolkata, the need for expanding core infrastructure facilities in the metropolis has become top priority of the West Bengal government.

As per the official statistics, out of 67 million urban residents in India, 22.5 million reside in West Bengal and that too on a geographical space of only 2.93 percent.
