Ujjain, MP, Mar 31 (UNI) Five second-rung workers of the banned Students Islamic Movement of India, who were arrested early today in this district's Unhel town, were remanded in police custody until April 7.

''An Ujjain police team's interrogation of SIMI members, recently apprehended at Indore, led to the arrest of the workers who were meeting behind a flat belonging to Jadil Pervez, the younger brother of SIMI office-bearer Aamil Pervez who was nabbed at Indore,'' Inspector-General M P Dwivedi said at a press conference this evening.

SIMI-related books and posters were among others materials seized. All five -- aged between 20 and 30 -- had criminal records.
