Hero Honda sales up 15% to 3,20,594 units
New Delhi, Mar 31 (UNI) Leading two-wheeler maker Hero Honda Motors Ltd today said it sales increased 15 per cent to 3,20,594 units in March compared to 2,77,915 units in the same month last year.
The company's total sales for the financial year 2007-08 stands at 33,37,142 two-wheelers, as compared to 33,36,756 units for the previous financial year (2006-07), said a statement.
''This is significant in view of the severe slowdown that the domestic two-wheeler industry is going through for the past more than a year,'' the statement added.
Company Managing Director Pawan Munjal said, ''The year 2007-08 has seen a leadership performance from us. Despite the industry slowdown, we have been able to manage positive growth thereby taking our share in the domestic motorcycle market upward of 52 per cent.'' We will continue to focus on our customers and they can surely look forward to many more launches and various initiatives in the coming year, he added.
Fiscal 2007-08 saw Hero Honda launch new models across segments.
The company more than doubled its volume and share in the premium segment this year, Hunk, CBZ X-treme and Splendor NXG.
The company also crossed the landmark 20 million cumulative sales during the course of year.
