Attempt to make world record leads to jail

Noida, Mar 31 (UNI) The Gautumbudh Nagar police today arrested a youth for staging a stunt on his bike on the Noida Expressway on Saturday.

Gurpreet Singh alias Sunny, 23, a resident of Gita Colony in New Delhi, on Saturday drove his Hero Honda Karizma bike for 12 kms from Amity school on the Noida Expressway on the rear wheel in an attempt to enter the Limca Book of Records.

He, however, had not taken the necessary permission for performing the act from the district administration.

''Gurpreet, a double graduate from the Delhi University, wanted to enter Limca Book of Records and also make a career in films as a stunt artist,'' Gautumbudh Nagar SSP A Satish Ganesh said.

A case has been registered at the Sector 39 police station under Section 279 and 336 of the Indian Penal Code under which he can be imprisoned for a maximum of six months.
