Widow found killed in her home, daughter being questioned

Barrackpore, Mar 30 (UNI) A 40-year-old widow was found dead and lying in a pool of blood in her Titagarh Milannagar residence under Khardah Police Station near here in North 24 Parganas this morning.

Police said Mrs Dola Ghosh, living with her daughter Swapna Ghosh, was found dead in her bedroom with a slit throat.

The body had been sent for post-mortem.

Additional Superintendent of Police, Barrackpore, Robin Tripathy, along with SDPO Belgharia Ashok Ray, reached the spot for a crime scene investigation. The ASP said the daughter of the deceased person could not furnish any relevant or susbstantial information regarding the crime.

Mr Tripathy said investigation was on. However, local residents told the police that a stepson of Mrs Ghosh, who used to visit her occasionally had been noticed arguing with the woman earlier.
