Two killed in blasts at Nepal mosque

Kathmandu, Mar 30: At least two persons were killed in three bomb blasts at an eastern Nepal mosque last evening. According to reports, two persons died on the way to hospital and more than a dozen injured when three socket bombs went off at the Chhoti Masjid located at Sarochiya in Biratnagar-7 of Morang district.

''Two persons on a motorcycle came near the mosque at 1930 hrs (local time) and hurled three socket bombs at it,'' a local newspaper said adding that Nepal Defence Army (NDA) took responsibility for the blast. Indefinite curfew has been imposed in the district following the blasts. The blasts at the home town of Prime Minister Girija Prasad Koirala occured when he was in town.
