Syllabus must inculcate new abilities in students: Arjun Singh
Bhopal, Mar 30 (UNI) Union Human Resource Development Minister Arjun Singh today said premier educational institutes should launch such syllabus that would foster new abilities in students.
Mr Singh, while addressing a convocation programme of the Indian Institute of Forest Management here, said educationists need to ensure the quality of education or else work done for people residing in remote areas would go waste.
He stressed on the need for every section of society reaping the benefits of economic and educational progress.
Lauding the efforts of the institute to develop high-quality reading material on forestry, environment and development sectors as per the requirements of students, he said students are an inseparable part of society and the country could scale new heights by moving along with them.
The institute's control board vice-president P R Mohanty said the institution was going to start a four-year fellowship programme equivalent to doctorate programme from 2008-09.
IIFM Director D K Bandopadhyay expressed his thoughts on the occasion.
