RJD calls for comprehensive policy to solve insurgency
Itanagar, Mar 30 (UNI) Arunachal Pradesh RJD has urged the Centre to formulate a target-oriented and time-specific comprehensive policy to constitute a special task force to eradicate insurgency from Tirap and Changlang districts.
Highlighting the recent killing of former MP Wangcha Rajkumar, extortion and abduction of villagers, public leaders and youths in these districts, the RJD in a memorandum to Prime Minister Manmohan Singh alleged that authorities were shifting the responsibility on security personnel deployed in terrorist dominated districts.
Release of abducted students would not bring the solution of the problem until and unless the government holds total control of the two districts by flushing out the outfits and damaging their camps and hideouts, the memorandum said.
The RJD party further urged to take strict measures to check influx of Bangladeshis and settle the Chakma and Hajong refugees outside the state in larger interest of the people.
The memorandum also pleaded the Prime Minister to provide special financial grant to revive the Arunachal Pradesh Forest Corporation Limited and establish other forest related industries to create employment avenues for the unemployed youths of the state.
