One killed, two injured in lightning
Jayankondam, Mar 30 (UNI) A man was killed and two others injured when lightning struck at them in three different places near here today.
Police said Murugasen (70), a farmer hailing from Thirukalappur village near here was struck by lightning due to rain, when he was grazing his cattle.
He was rushed to a private hospital at Andimadam, where the doctors declared him as brought dead. A cow also perished to death in the incident.
In an similar incident, Sankar (70) of Manakarai village was injured due to lightning, while going to his village in a bycycle.
In another incident, a 32-year-old farmer Shanmugam of Orape village was also struck by the lightning, while on his way to take his bath in a local irrigation well.
Both of them were admitted to Government Hospital here, police added.
