Koirala condemns killing at mosque
Kathmandu, Mar 30 (UNI) Nepal Prime Minister Girija Prasad Koirala today expressed sadness over multiple blasts at Choti Mosque in Biratnagar that killed two people yesterday.
''I have appealed to the Muslim community to practice self-restraint and take part in the upcoming Constituent Assembly elections with religious harmony, Kantipur quoted Mr Koirala as saying at Biratnagar airport before leaving for Kathmandu today.
He also assured that immediate investigation of the explosions will be carried out and the perpetrators brought to justice.
The regressive elements had carried out these activities taking advantage of the dispute among the seven ruling parties, he said.
But the objective with which these elements carried out the blasts will not be fulfilled, he said adding, this will not affect the constituent assembly polls.
Nepal is holding constituent assembly polls for the first time on April 10 to write a new constitution.
