New Delhi, Mar 30: Global leader in home appliances Electrolux has set a sales target of 5.5 lakh units and a turnover of Rs 650 crore from all products in FY09. ''We are eyeing a 12 per cent market share of refrigerator industry in the country with a target sale of 1.5 lakh refrigerators this summer (from April to June),'' CEO (Electrolux Division) Anirudh Dhoot told reporters.
Our second manufacturing unit in Kashipur Uttarakhand (first being in Shajahanpur, Rajasthan) will start production from April 5 and we will spend Rs 7 crore on our marketing campaign from April-June, Mr Dhoot added. The company launched its new Deo Fresh Direct cool series coupled with the introduction of 240 litres and 280 litres Frost Free Deo Fresh refrigerators.
The Deo Fresh Direct Cool series is available in 180 litre / 190 litre / 230 litre, and comes in colours like Executive Grey, Urban Mint, Blue Horizon, Aubergine Red, Silver Blush etc. All these new models come with a 4 star energy rating certified by B E E.
''Apart from the new Deo Fresh Direct cool series we also plan to introduce products in 240 litre in Frost Free segment,'' COO (Electrolux Division) Eric Braganza said.
''With the launch of our new Direct cool series which ranges from 180 litres to 340 litres. Our product offering within refrigeration portfolio will be strenghened, Mr Braganza said.
The company holds eight per cent share within the Frost Free refrigerator category in the country. This year Electrolux expects the frost free sales to be close to 1.50 lakh units.
The Electrolux range starts from 172 litres and goes upto 700 litres with price range of Rs 7,700 to Rs 99,900.
