BJP to launch nationwide stir on price rise
Bangalore, Mar 30 (UNI) The BJP will launch a week-long nationwide demonstration from April 7 to condemn the Congress-led UPA Government at the Centre for failing to contain the skyrocketing of prices of essential commodities.
Informing this at a press conference here today, Party Vice President M Venkaiah Naidu charged the UPA government with letting the common people down miserably as prices of foodgrains, cereals, edible oil, steel, cement, coal and petroleum products had gone up steeply due to its 'incompetence and irresponsible' governance.
Ridiculing the announcement of Left parties to hold demonstration against the UPA Government on rising inflation, Mr Naidu said, ''the ''Communist parties are equally responsible for the present state of affairs in the country.'' ''Left parties draws credit for halting Indo-US Nuclear deal and can not escape from blame for the steep rise in prices of all commodities,'' he said.
Mr Naidu further said the Left parties, except making noise over the failure of UPA government, which survives on their support never seems to be bothered over the plight of common people, who were worst affected due to rise in prices of essential commodities.
Describing the UPA government's Loan Waiver Scheme as 'Half baked,' Mr Naidu alleged that the suicide of farmers were continuing unabated despite several packages announced by the UPA government.
''There is chaos prevailing in Agriculture sector and the economic slow down is being witnessed as there is slump in industrial production, manufacturing and servicing sector,'' he added.
Mr Naidu said after the week-long nationwide stir from April 7, 'Farmers Adalat' would be held across the country.
''We will take on the UPA Govenrment both inside and outside the Parliament,'' he said.
