Employee killed in Mumbai Airport

Mumbai, Mar 30: In a freak accident, an airport employee of Cambatta Aviation was killed by a speeding Air India coach at the Chhatrapati Shivaji International Airport here in the wee hours today. The deceased, 45-year-old Gyaneshwar Kunte was in Bay 71 of the airport busy in loading operations for a Kenyan Airways flight at 0400 hours, when an Air India coach hit a trolley loaded with a heavy container weighing over 1,000 kgs that snapped Kunte's neck, killing him instantly, according to the official sources.

Witnesses said, the bus was rolling at speed of 50-60 kms per hour well over the tarmac limit of 15-20 kmph. A case was lodged at the Sahar Police Station. The bus driver was absconding. Airport authorities said, the matter was being investigated.
