Vice President in Mumbai on March 31

Mumbai, Mar 29 (UNI) Vice President Mohammad Hamid Ansari will be here on a day's visit to the metropolis to attend two functions on March 31.

The Vice President will attend the 2nd Annual Awards organized by the Cancer Aid and Research Foundation at the Sahayadri Guest House, an official release said here today.

The Vice President will later deliver the First Foundation Day lecture of the University of Mumbai's ''Rajiv Gandhi Centre for Contemporary Studies'' at the University's Kalina Campus.

The function will be attended by Chief Minister Vilasrao Deshmukh and Union Minister for Oil, Natural Gas and Petroleum Murli Deora.

Earlier, Maharashtra Governor S C Jamir will receive the Vice President and his wife Alemla Jamir at the airport.
