Uttarakhand CM says he made no comments on Kandahar issue
New Delhi, Mar 29 (UNI) Uttarakhand Chief Minister Maj Gen (Retd) BC Khanduri today denied that he had made any comments on the Kandahar hostage issue as reported in a section of the press.
Mr Khanduri was asked a question about senior BJP leader LK Advani's comments about the Kandahar incident in his recently released book 'My Country My Life' at a Meet the Press Programme held by the Press Club of India here yesterday.
In a statement issued here today, the Uttarakhand Chief Minister said since he was not a cabinet minister in the Vajpayee Government at that time and had not participated in the deliberations, he had simply remarked to a question that he was not in a position to comment on the issue.
He said his words had been misunderstood.
