Trinamool MLA Sougata Roy attacked

Bangaon, Mar 29 (UNI) West Bengal Trinamool Congress Legislator from Bangaon Saugata Roy was today allegedly attacked by rival party activists at Jangipur under Gopalnagar police station in North 24 Parganas.

Mr Roy alleged that some miscreants threw stones and brickbats at his car when he was returning to Kolkata from a party meeting at Jangipur.

However, Mr Roy and his driver escaped unhurt.

An FIR was lodged with Gopal police station in this connection.

An investigation was on to book the culprits, police said.
