Second unit of Yamunanagar Thermal Plant synchronized

Chandigarh, Mar 29 (UNI) Haryana Power Minister Randeep Singh Surjewala informed that Unit No 2 of 300 MW of Deen Bandhu Chaudhary Chhotu Ram Thermal Power Station, Yamunanagar was today synchronized on oil and it would likely to be fired on coal within a week.

Mr Surjewala said that Unit No 1 of 300 MW was likely to come into commercial production from April 1.

He said this would go a long way in further easing the power situation in the state.

The Minister said that in order to ensure quality and reliable supply of power, the Power Utilities had also undertaken an extensive transmission and distribution infrastructure development programme.
