Bihar: Sub Inspector arrested for taking bribe

Laxmisarai, Mar 29: A Bihar police Sub Inspector was today arrested by the state Vigilance sleuths while taking bribe from a truck owner at a local dhaba.

Following a written complaint that S I Raj Kumar Prasad of Suryagada Police station had demanded Rs 5,000 from a local truck owner to 'settle' his case after the vehicle met with an accident, the vigilance officials laid a trap at the dhaba.

They arrested the SI when he was accepting the previously marked cash.

He was immediately suspended and produced in a local court which sent him to judicial custody, the police said.
