One died in blast, police constable injured in Kashmir

Baramulla, Mar 29 (UNI) One person was killed and a police constable injured overnight, official sources said today.

They said one Mehdi Bashir was killed when a handgrenade he was fiddling with, exploded at Mumkak in Sopore today.

The other family members however, escaped unhurt in the blast.

An encounter took place during a search operation at village Check-e-Sodal in Handwara. One police constable was injured in the encounter, they said adding the militants managed to escape.
