Minister reviews 'DRDO-Army Bio-Diesel Programme'
Hydereabad, Mar 29 (UNI) Minister of State for Defence M M Pallam Raju today reviewed the progress of the ongoing 'DRDO-Army Bio-Diesel Programme' at a military farm in Secunderabad.
While presiding over a steering committee meeting with directors and scientists of various laboratories, academia, industries and army departments here, Mr Raju said the programme should be continued to meet the energy requirements of the country.
To overcome the national energy problem and to have indigenous alternate source of energy project, the programme was sanctioned by the distinguished DRDO Scientist and Chief Controller of Research and Development Programme Dr W Selvamurthy.
The Programme Director and Director of Defence Agriculture Research Laboratory Dr Zakwan Ahmed said the programme was launched with the participation of various DRDO laboratories in the country.
Dr Mohd Arif, Scientist, Jatropha Project, DARL, said the jatropha had been planted in 300 hectors in the military farm.
