Karunanidhi greets Bardhan

Chennai, Mar 29 (UNI) Tamil Nadu Chief Minister and DMK President M Karunanidhi today greeted A B Bardhan on his re-election as the General Secretary of the CPI, and said he was the right person for the post.

Replying to a question, 84-year-old Karunanidhi heaped praises on the veteran communist leader and said Mr Bardhan was fit for the post in all aspects.

His long-standing experience and honest way of functioning were the shields which protect that party,'' he added.

Observing that Mr Bardhan has the capacity to overcome any problem irrespective of its dimension, Mr Karunanidhi said ''this 84-year-old congratulates that 82-year-old leader.'' Mr Bardhan has been re-elected as the General Secretary of the party for the fourth consecutive term at the CPI's National Conference in Hyderabad.
